The Can’t Miss Cycling Festivals This Summer

5 min read

We love cycling. Whether it is out on the trails, in parks or inside on a smart trainer (looking at you KICKR), cycling is a passion and a lifestyle. So what’s better than getting on your bike and pedaling your heart out? Nothing, but getting together with other bike lovers and celebrating your passions is a close second.

So in honor of that, we decided to share some of our favorite, can’t miss cycling festivals of this summer. Get ready. Get set. Go.

Atlanta Cycling Festival – June 11 – 18, 2016

A little local love to our hometown, this cycling festival will celebrate its 3rd year from Saturday, June 11 until Saturday, June 18. They will be featuring more than 40 bicycle events for the entire week, including a pop-up MTB single track, an art, tech and bike series (thanks to us!), a learning series from Bike Law GA, and an “Unseen Atlanta” ride, which takes you to places you didn’t even know existed in the ATL. Plus, they recently teased that they will be incorporating rooftops and skylines. So we are pretty pumped about this one!

Subaru Elephant Rock Cycling Festival – June 4 – 5, 2016

This festival combines great rides for different endurance levels as well as a kick-ass party at the end. Aside from the awesome party and the camping opportunities, this Colorado event has become known for its scenic views and challenging courses. You can choose from 100, 62, and 40-miles road courses, 27-mile gravel courses and an easily manageable 8-mile course. Oh, and tandem bikes are totally allowed! Grab your entire family and head to Elephant rock. Side note, there are limits on how many riders are allowed on each course, so be sure to register now.

Great Western Bicycle Rally – May 27 – 30, 2016

Located in Paso Robles, California, this four-day festival celebrates all things cycling. This massive rally has a little something for everyone, from BMX stunt performers to the Kid’s Bike Decorating Session. Rides of varying degrees of difficulty are offered at this year’s GWBR. Whether you are more interested in coffee and cake at the end of your ride or joining other women in rides of 20, 42 or 46 miles, you will find what you are looking for. (No, we are serious. There’s actually a coffee/cake ride.) You can’t forget the food and drink. After all, this is California, and what would Cali be without a little wine? This event features beer, BBQ, pasta, coffee, cake, pizza and, of course, wine. We recommend you book your flight and tickets today!

Vermont Mountain Bike Fest – July 22 -24, 2016

This three-day family friendly festival features camping out, guided rides, contests and Mountain Bike Olympics. They also have a BBQ on Saturday for all of the hungry riders. As for entertainment, live music is always an essential part of this festival. For the cyclists, courses come in beginner, intermediate and advanced, as well as a family ride in the evening. Get ready for great views, good music and fantastic BBQ.
