A steady beat. An inspirational lyric. A ripping guitar solo. Athletes have long known what science is now confirming: music motivates us to go harder, faster, longer, and over the finish line. Wahooligans, we know that music is part of what fuels you to slay each workout. Now, with our monthly Spotify playlist series, we’re delivering expertly-curated motivational playlists compiled by athletes, DJs, and others who ought to know.

This month, a few of our favorite pros share what’s playing on repeat while they train for and race the 2018 Tour de France.

Peter Sagan, Slovak professional road bicycle racer for the UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe, gets his training in with the likes of Sum 41, ACDC, Nirvana, and Macklemore. Mixing a little pop-punk and classic hard rock with some new-age hip-hop, he’s all about keeping his heart rate up. Listen to his playlist >

Daniel Oss

Jay McCarthy

Jay McCarthy, a professional road racing cyclist from Australia, has us listening to a broad range of music from Khalid’s slinky, R&B soundtrack to fun tech-house hits from CASSIMM. While he did not make this year’s Tour team he is one of our favorite Wahooligans and a great friend of the brand. Listen to his  playlist >

Team Sky

The official Team Sky account gets a little more playful with some upbeat song from HAIM, saucy remixes from J Beibs, and the ambient afrobeats of Drake. Listen to their playlist >
