Whether your Wahoo Fitness KICKR or KICKR SNAP and Zwift are well acquainted or you’re setting up your first ride, optimizing your indoor bike training area makes all the difference. You’ll be more inspired to ride and it makes hopping on your bike trainer and hitting the (virtual) road even more fun.
Why pair your KICKR with Zwift?
Zwift puts you in the racer’s seat from the convenience of your living room, garage, or anywhere you want to set up your KICKR or KICKR SNAP indoor bike trainer. It’s a virtual social platform that pits you against riders from around the world on a hyper-realistic 3D island. It’s immersive and competitive, rewards you for great workouts and racing achievements, and is a great way to break up training sessions and keep you inspired to ride.
Gear You’ll Need for Your Indoor Cycling Training Area:
Your optimal Zwift race space is simple – it just requires a few items that you probably already have.
- KICKR or KICKR SNAP
- Laptop/Mobile Device
Since you’ll be indoors and don’t have the natural breeze to cool you off, you’ll be drenched during these racing events. A fan and water bottle cage will ensure you’re kept hydrated and cool and your mat will grip your trainer and mop those hard-earned sweat drops off the floor.
Plugging in your Zwift session to a big screen really enhances the experience. You’ll love using Zwift on any size screen, but having the road in front of you on a large display will draw you deeper into the training session. Plus, it’s easy – just connect your laptop to the TV via an HDMI cable and you’re good to go.
Building Your Dedicated Training Area
A place you can permanently house your equipment isn’t required, but it is ideal. The good news? You don’t need a ton of space. As long as you can fit your KICKR and a TV in the room, you’ll be able to jump on your indoor bike trainer and enjoy the ride quickly!
