The ELEMNT GPS Bike Computers now support on bike ANT+ Rearview Radar. This new feature integration works with the ELEMNT ROAM, ELEMNT BOLT and ELEMNT. It enables you to pair your ANT+ rearview radar to your ELEMNT GPS Bike Computer to get the real time proximity of vehicles approaching from behind. With two unique modes* you can either utilize the ELEMNT’s  left side LEDs to see vehicles approaching from behind or see them represented directly on the computer’s screen combined with top LED display.

How does it all work?

Pairing: Pair the ANT+ radar to your ELEMNT Bike Computer by using the ELEMNT Companion app or from the settings menu on the bike computer.
Channel Colors: On the ROAM the color of the road will change based on the speed of the cars approaching the cyclist from behind. Orange for normal speeds and red for high speeds. The road will change to green once the car has passed the cyclist.

BOLT/ELEMNT On Screen Mode: The User is able to see approaching vehicles while the LED lights above change color based on speed of the approaching vehicle(s).

ROAM On Screen Mode: With on screen mode the user is able to see the location of the vehicle(s) approaching behind while the lane changes colors based on the speed of the approaching vehicles.

ROAM/ELEMNT LED Mode: If a user does not want the lane displayed on device they can use the side LEDs on the ROAM or ELEMNT. (not shown)

How the ELEMNT differs from Garmin:

  • Garmin bike computers are not able to utilize LED’s to display radar information. They are reliant on a separate LED display to show the car’s proximity to you.
  • On the Garmin head unit the color channels always display on both sides of the screen making less room for crucial ride and workout data and navigation.
