Endurance athlete Lael Wilcox has set out to ride the Tour Divide in 2019. Lael would be attempting to set a new course record and in the process win the race overall. With the high levels of snow on course this year the record is unlikely but the goal to win overall is still up for the grabbing.
Course conditions will require Lael to be well prepared and in the best condition possible. Lael returned to Alaska before the big race to put in some quality time on the KICKR and to connect back with friends, family and GRITS the girls cycling mentorship program she and friend Cait Rodriguez founded.
Part of Lael’s preparation was to ride from Boulder, CO to Emporia, KS where she raced the Dirty Kanza XL. Nothing like knocking out 700 miles and then racing 350 miles to get you prepared and ready for Tour Divide.
Check out Lael’s Bike set- up with bags from Revelate Designs, Specialized Bike and all the Pearl Izumi Clothing needed to cover the 2,000 plus miles of the Tour Divide.
Lael will be using the ELEMNT ROAM GPS Bike Computer for her Tour Divide Race later this summer. While in Alaska Lael use the KICKR Indoor Trainer to put in long miles in preparation for the Divide. The entire ecosystem of Wahoo products will be with Lael each pedal stroke during her journey.
