Take notice: we’ve added another leading WorldTour team to our squad.
Katusha-Alepcin — entering into its tenth year of racing at the WorldTour level — has already capped 242 total race wins and 449 podium places in the professional peloton.
Their partnership with Wahoo Fitness means that the world champions will utilize Wahoo Fitness’s bluetooth-enabled ELEMNT BOLT GPS head unit and the TICKR Heart Rate Monitor in the 2018 season. Our two products will supply the cycling team with race-critical information, before and after events, to stay in peak performance.
Becoming Faster Than Ever
The ELEMNT BOLT GPS was designed using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) testing, making it the most aerodynamic cycling computer on the market. The team, led by four-time world time trail champion Tony Martin and fellow countryman and Tour de France green jersey winner Marcel Kittel, turned to Wahoo’s masterfully built products to assist in making the major and marginal performance gains in future events.
With their easy-to-read metrics and pinpoint accurate sensors, the ELEMNT BOLT and TICKR Heart Rate Monitor will serve as crucial elements of the team’s strategy to measure race-winning speed and effort.
José Azevedo, General Manager of Team Katusha-Alpecin, is “excited and honored” to have a partnership with Wahoo Fitness.
“Wahoo is a young and dynamic company with the best quality bike computers on the market. The ELEMNT BOLT head unit is so easy to configure and to work with. It has a nice design, aerodynamic shape and a superior battery life. Our riders and coaches used it for the first time at our December training camp in Mallorca, and immediately were all very fond of it.”
Creating Industry Leading Gear
Here at Wahoo, we’re more than ecstatic. Alongside Team Sky and BORA-Hansgrohe, the addition of Katusha-Alepcin solidifies our position as cycling partners to the fastest guys in the pro peloton training. This means our products will be continuously tested and used at the highest levels of performance.
“The gains to be had from utilizing the Wahoo product ecosystem are very real – from our category-leading customization and ease of use, to the BOLT’s wind tunnel-tested aerodynamic savings, and we couldn’t be happier that the WorldTour’s leading teams are taking notice,” says Wahoo Fitness CEO Chip Hawkins.
We’re working hard as leaders of the cycling industry, and there’s plenty more up our sleeves for 2018. Stay tuned to our blog to be the first to know.
