A Little About Sonya
Sonya is an American rider turned pro in 2006 focusing on XC. Sonya found her love for the sport of cycling in 2003 with spin classes at the gym during her training for a marathon, and turned truly addicted when discovering a mountain bike. Since then she hasn’t looked back. Sonya had an incredible 2015 seeking out the most difficult endurance races in the world. Most notably is breaking her arm and still winning the World Championship 3 months later!
“Personally, racing is about testing my personal limits, expanding my global frame of reference, and seeing the world.”
Training with the KICKR and KICKR SNAP
“I live in Canada (although I am American!) and winter is a major challenge. We spend a lot of time riding indoors due to snow and extreme cold. This winter, I have some big goals. I’ll be defending my 24Hr Mountain Bike World Champion Title in February in New Zealand. It’s their summer so I need to keep working on my form! I’ll be doing my intensity on the KICKR and am really excited to have the best technology right at my feet!”
We are extremely proud to have Sonya in our Wahooligan family for 2016. Look out for some great things from her starting next week in Chile for the Trans Andes Challenge Stage Race and learn more about Sonya in her TED Talk below!
