World class triathlete Matt Russell has many goals for the 2017 season but the one that stands out and is in the forefront of his mind is breaking the eight hour barrier at Ironman Texas US North American Championships.

Accomplishing this goal would place Matt amongst the elite of the elite in the Ironman community. This includes athletes Jan Frodeno and Sebastian Kienle both of which have stood on the podium at Ironman World Championships in Kona.  Only 39 male athletes have broken the eight hour time barrier, three being American athletes. Matt is poised to be the fourth American and make it an even 40 worldwide.

Matt trains exclusively indoors on the bike. This is the level of commitment Matt has to reaching his goal. Matt knows that by doing all of his bike training on the KICKR Power Trainer using TrainerRoad workouts he removes all uncontrollable variables enabling him to focus solely on efforts needed.  This attention to detail is necessary for accomplishing his sub- eight hour goal.

Taking on a goal that is larger than life takes guts, commitment and perseverance; all attributes of a Wahooligan.
